You know you can check all that online, all you need is your VON or VIN number and Serramonte's dealer code which is 44385

Go to

http://insightnl.extra.daimlerchrysler.com/inl_dealer/Dealer_LOGIN.jsp

Type the dealer code in the box, then hit Submit.

A new page will pop up and choose "Vehicle Trace" which is on the left, in the blue section.

Enter you Vin or VON number and hit Submit.

Then all the info on your truck should pop up.

I was cruising this thread, and saw the reference to Chaprell Dodge in Ada, Okla. I bought my 2003 3500 TD HO QC LWB 2WD SRW48 RE Laramie there in July '03. Also bought extended warranty service contract there 4-1/2 mos later. VERY happy with the deal and how I was treated overall. Am pleased to recommend them to other buyers.

i'm looking at ordering in a week or so,

3500 DRW, 4x2, auto, SLT package, tow group w/tow mirrors.

what should i expect for a Dealer invoice on this?

I get a deal trough work where i get 1% under invoice + any rebates.

The window sticker on the trucks in socal are in the 44000 to 49000 range

If you're a Costco member, go to the Costco website, click on "Services" and then go to the vehicle purchase info pages. You can do a complete pricing of what you want to order, and the website will give you the dealer invoice price. TIP: When the prompts ask for "your zipcode," use the zipcode of the dealer from whom you wish to order.

If you're not a Costco member, go to the Consumer Reports website, and access the vehicle buying guide info. A print-out -- via your computer -- of the total invoice price will cost $12. 00 (each), billed to your credit card. I saw that you intend to order a DRW. For others wanting an SRW, don't make the mistake that I did; I ended up paying twice: If you want to order a 3500 SRW, use the information for the 3500 DRW, then click on the appropriate boxes to subtract the value of the DRW to get the invoice price of the SRW.

Well,

I have been out of the loop a while, but I have saved up money for a nice 40-50% down payment. A few months ago, when I got hooked on the CTD I decided that none of my local California Bay Area dealers were going to sell me a truck for anywhere near invoice. I have been planning on ordering it though Tommeygun, and flying out to St Louis, but I have heard rumors that Dodge will only ship a truck with California emissions to California, or a state which boarders California, and also to any other state that requires California emissions. Is there any truth to this, or is it just BS.

Another thing, has anybody bought a dodge out of state? How do you register and insure it for the drive home? I know these are all questions that Tommeygun could answer, but I would rather not bother him until I am absolutely ready to order my truck.

Another thing, is there anybody that knows of someone else who will sell me one for $500 over invoice or less? Any dealerships or salesmen anywhere in California, Oregon, or Nevada? If not, I will be happy to have a little plane flight and a mini road trip back home from St Louis Missouri.

Thanks for your replys,

Peter

Peter I just bought an 2004. 5 cummins 600 and i order it from Tobin dodge in las vegas nevada I checked all over the country and spent 6 months getting the information to buy my truck. it is a 3500 quad cab 2 wheel drive SLT and it is well equiped the MSRP for my truck $39,430 and I paid $31,760 after the rebate of $2500. 00 and it took 6 weeks from the day I put in the order if you want you can call me at 702 285 6001 or call Clay Kahananui from tobin dodge 702 218 2909 also 4 weeks a go I ordered another 2004. 5 for my son inlaw but if you want call me and I will tell you how to get the best deal.

Regarding registering and insuring for the drive home:

When you take delivery, the dealer will give you a paper license plate and tape it in the rear window. It's good anywhere in the U. S. for 30 days; you have 30 days to register the car in the state you wish (usually your state of residence).

Most, if not all insurance companies cover any new (or used, but "new to you") car you purchase for 30 days from the date of purchase. In any event the coverage you have on your existing car(s) or truck(s) applies to any vehicle you drive. Just to be on the safe side, I called my agent from the dealer when I took delivery, and gave him the VIN of the new truck.

I ordered my truck April 15th, I am waiting patiently... . well sortof :)

2004. 5 3500 Quad Cab SLT 4x2 Flame red, Taupe leather, Anti spin, Tow mirrors, Tow group, Side impact airbags. .
