Ordering new 06 questions?

Just came from my dealer. Asking questions about ordering new 3500 dually.

I was quoted that you cannot get the 410 rear end with a 6 speed manual, and if you order the tow package you cannot get a full size spare tire. Does this make sense? Can you see a dually truck with one small tire on it? Let me know if anyone has a 410 and or full size spare tire.

Not sure about the gears. I drive an auto. But I do have the tow package on my '04 3500 and have a full size spare. Mines a SRW not a Dually, but that shouldn't make a difference. . 02¢

I have an SRW 06 3500 auto with 4. 10's and tow package and it has a full size spare, I know because I got a flat a week after I bought it.

The gearing on the new G56 makes the truck with 3. 73's equivalent to the trucks that have the NV5600 and 4. 10's. If you could get 4. 10's in that truck you'd be turning close to 3000 rpm at 75-80.

If I were ordering an '06, I'd get the auto with 4. 10's and the exhaust brake. Doesn't get much sweeter than that combo IMO. The new autos are much better than the 47RE, and the E-brake is really trick.

If your ordering it, don't be in a hurry. I been waiting since Oct 21 and they still don't even have a build date for me!



I have the 06 dodge ram catalog in front of me. It looks like the dually comes with 235/80R17E which is only 5mm larger (dia) then the tires on the SRW 265/70R17E.



the catalog list Every model truck as having a "full tire spare" as standard or included (except the SR-10 says non-matching)



The catalog list the Trailer Tow package includes class IV receiver, 7 pin wiring harness and 750amp battery (standard on 2500/3500 megacab). catalog lists it as an option on all models, and standard or included on the power wagon.



I assume the (standard on 2500/3500 megacab) means the trailer tow package is standard on the Megacab? (And the diesel comes standard with 2-750amp batteries. ) From the way I see other packages listed, I would think it would say if you had to buy a different size spare. It would be a PITA to have a smaller spare with a dually or even a SRW with a Limited slip.

Wish my 06' had the adjustable pedals. The G56 w/3. 73's appears to be geared low enough.
