Archived OTRPU is down again

Hi all, I made it to the Lake Point Flying J, Lake point, UT, (close to Salt Lake City). Got a 5er on going to Livermore, CA. My ATS transmission is really in a bad way, even afraid to drop the trailer and try and drive the Ram anywhere. Can anybody give me the information for an ATS dealer in SLC or close? Either email me or cell is (303)478-9716. This is the pits. Anybody in Utah got an ATS?

Sorry about your run of bad luck lately Steve. Between you & haulin in dixie oh Murrphy law should be pretty well satisfied this year. I've been seeing more & more posts of transmission problems lately, I hope Murrphy leaves mine alone.

Checked today, was about a pint low on transmission fluid. Dropped the trailer and tried it, seems much better. Pretty sure OD is out of it again though. Guess I'll have someone take a look at it Monday. Thought about haulin the 5er the rest the way using 3rd gear, might not be a bad idea, but think it prudent to have someone that knows about them see if I should run or fix first.

Have you called anybody listed in the travel companion? When my transmission went TU in Ogden I was referred to a couple of places, one of them I believe was Diesel Dynamics. Not sure of the business name but the contact was Ken Jones 801-791-2328 or731-6291. He tried his best to help me out, but for a couple of reasons I ended up having another driver finish my trip and I opted to drive to Ft. Worth in the only gear that didn't howl, 4th.



At any rate, the guys in that area gave me some good info.

GAmes, Yogibear called me from Kansas, he gave my cell to Ken. It's the weekend and Ken works a couple jobs so time off is precious. I expect he will contact me Monday, if not I'll contact him. I'm just hangin out, re-starting hours. . . give er ell next week.

good luck w/ the transmission. ken will fix ya up. ive got nuthin but good things to say bout ken and the work he does. he's had a major part in improving 4 of my 5 ctd's. he is the guy to see for ats installs in northern utah and he will treat ya right.

Just wanted to let you know the trannies been fixed. Problem was the guy that installed the rebuilt engine didn't tighten the cooler lines at the transmission. Ended up I burnt up the OD clutches. Sittin in the Ripon, CA Flying J now, looking for someone to repair some A&E awning damage. Somewhere tween there and here it got nicked. Been through a bunch of snow, no ice though. Raining now, think I'll take a nap.

Is the engine installer going to stand good for the transmission repairs?

Well, I left owing him $1,500, the latest transmission repair cost me $517, far as I'm concerned I owe him the difference. Not counting the lost time and not being able to deliver on schedule. Don't know for sure how he'll feel about this, but he's been doing a good job most the time and has been fair other transactions. What's right is right, I think he knows that. Will get back later. Thanks again to all that offered condolences, advice and help.

I'm up the hill about 1. 25 Hrs away . . buy ya a beer if your laying over. . also know the area reasonably well if I don't know places for you, Brandon lives just east of you in Oakdale area. . long term resident and all around good guy would help with info and what not
