I was working on a fire protection system for the Tompson Creek Mine in Central Idaho and saw a pickup truck that was run over by a Haul truck. It was a half ton chevy and was flat.

The poor guy driving was killed.



The haul trucks are set up to drive on the left side of the road and do not stop too fast in a panic.

I'm the project engineer for the Blackrock golf project in Coeur d'Alene. Major excavation. I almost got it from a loaded Cat 769 skidding down the main access road (10% grade) in the mud. I goosed the Ram out of the way. He slid over a 1/4 mile until he got into some fresh-bladed gravel, hooked up, and brought it to a stop. I was a little unnerved, but the poor hauler operator was white as a ghost and shaking like a leaf. He hopped out, lit the filter end of his cigarette, and started rambling apologies.
