For the guys who know ford guys????

When it come to getting aftermarket equipment installed, always ask if you can watch the installation. I had a KORE PACE suspension installed by a well known Off read shop in the Ft. Worth area and they did a number on my lower control arms. I did not notice anything when I left, but when I drove it to my dealership to show it to a buddy of mine in sales, he noticed a clanking sound when I drove it into the lot. We started looking it over and did not notice anything loose, but my buddy said that it looked like the wheel spacing on the front was not even from front to back, or more to the back than usual. I took the truck home to inspect and found that both of my lower control arms were bent. It was almost as if they had jacked up the truck and placed the jack stands under the control arms, then dropped the truck on them. Well, since I was leaving early the next Monday to go on vacation, I did not have the time to take it back to them, but called and explained what had happened. Of course, they denied doing it, and were only open for sales on Saturday so there were no tech available. I told them I would have it fixed and bring them the bill. After having the control arms replaced and then noticing that the end links on the sway bar were also bent, had them replaced too. I did manage to get the parts wholesale, since my buddy works for Dodge. I guess I thought I was doing this Offroad shop a favor by getting the parts wholesale. I will try not to think again. When I got back from vacation, I returned to this place with my friend from the dealership. Well, after a heated discussion with the owner, we were asked to leave. But, that was not all, the owner called the dealership and talked to the owner and tried to get my buddy fired. It'll be small claims court now to the tune of about 650 dollars. Just a reminder to everyone to try to watch installations, or do them yourself

This is why I'm glad to say I am my own warrenty station :)

good luck!

my mom ran into a similar problem with her taurus. had to have a new A/C compessor installed, when she got back from the dealer I noticed a HUGE dent on the front right fender like the mech dropped the compressor on the fender. the dealership denied everything and told her she must have bumped someone on the way out. this is why I hate dealerships when it comes to haveing work done.
