Took truck out today, first on road drive since 12-1-02. Oh yea, the smell, the sound, I love it. Will be towing with Friday, can't wait. :D

Another cheesehead that hates salt?

I have mine sitting in the garage after spending the winter in the hangar at the airport. I have a hard time subjecting the truck to all the road salt in the winter after spending big $$$ on it.

Exactly, BIG $$ spent on these trucks and I want mine to last a long time. The body won't in the salt. In fact, with the mild winter weather we have had I think the counties were dumping more salt down just to get rid of their allocations. The asphalt road in front of my house was white with salt several times this year. We are having an ice storm tonite so I can imagine what the roads will look like tomorrow.

How you do it is way beyond me. I waited too long and wanted it way to bad to ever let my cummins sit. I'd love to preserve it too, but how can you let it sit there without truely enjoying it. Maybe i'm a little obsessed er something.

Clarification; I did use my truck two times to plow my driveway so I did have a little fun with it in January:D

My 0.02

Ever thought of linexing underneath to help combat the ravages of winter weather? I had mine done along with the pick-up bed three years ago and it still looks reasonably good underneath after more than 37k miles and we regularly go on snowboarding trips all over Europe.
