Classified Question/Suggestion

I have noticed a LOT of outdated posts int he events section and the pay it forward section.

Might want to figure out a way to either auto delete them after a given amount of time, or send out reminders to clean the board up.

Users can't delete threads that they've started because it deletes all responses to their thread and we had lots of complaints where someone didn't like the responses they got and deleted the thread to get rid of them. We don't delete old threads because many people use them as a history and go to look up information after the fact. In the pay it forward section for example someone may want to look to see if someone had given something away in the past, etc. Everything is sorted by date so you have the choice to just stop reading when you get further back than what you are looking for.

I saw that. . AFTER I was looking at some stuff from last year. no big deal, I just didn't notice the dates.

Being a moderator on another board, I understand, but sooner or later, some of it is gonna have to go, otherwise the storage space needed will get huge.

On our board, if an item is sold, or no longer for sale, it is deleted. And if a post no longer is pertinent, it can be deleted if the original poster ok's it.

Also, any posts over 30 days with no reply is either deleted or archived, depending on what kind of post itis.
