Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) output shaft broke

well i broke an output shaft last week and had the transmission shop replace it with a billet one am i going to have to aways look over my shoulder for another one to break or are the billet ones lasting longer ,,, it was only a year since the transmission was built so labor was under warranty ,,, the input shaft is billet and the intermediate shaft is stock and now i have a billet output,,, question also is the intermediate shaft going to break now ???

What were you doing to break your input shaft? I have been doing a few 10 psi launches with stock shafts.....

Stock output shafts can't handle numerous launches over ten pounds. A friend of mine has broke two stock output shafts in a matter of four-six months by doing more then 10LB launches.

Go to Quad 4X4's site. They make a couple of aftermarket outputs. I just put in the silver shaft setup on mine. It is a nice full splined shaft for the 5th gear. They make a gold shaft also. Check them out.
