Hey everyone, I just had the OSS go bad in my 2000 at 89k miles. My truck is stock and has no engine performance mods. My brother, who has the same year truck experienced the same thing at almost the same milage a couple months ago.
Mine manifested with the check engine light and the trouble codes for P 1693 and P0720. I also got a P 0750 as I pulled the transmission 20 amp fuse so I could limp her home as she wouldnt shift out of 1st.
I got the sensor from the dealership, $22, and did the change. I pulled the Negative terminals on the batteries to reset the comp but still have the check engine light and the P1693 code.
It drives and it shifts but its got no power from a standing start... very sluggish!!! Its drivable but it takes a good bit to get it up to speed and it sure wont handle any kind of grade.
Any suggestions out there as to what I can do would be much appreciated
