back a few months ago when I joined the TDR, I remember posting about my egt temps, only to be told my gauge was bad they all get very hot when stock, there is no way you are running that low of temps, even before asking if they were pre or post readings. while drivning to work today, its been raining so the harley is not my choice for work trans, anyhow I got to thinking as the temps are much warmer now than the winter months. I have seen temps 200 degrees hotter cruising at 65 mph. this made me wonder why this never came into the topic before:confused: . anyhow what you al should remember is there are some things that have to many variables to be yes/no. I read should I tow with the ez on?if so what level?,as I have no gauges to tell my egt's. well I am not saying you can or cannot, but I have and did not see extreme egt's from level 4 towing 6/7000 lbs,but the temps outside were in the 10's and 20's f. with what I see now with temps in the 80's there is no way I could do that. so it is not as simple as yes or no. only that boxes without gauges is always a NO, just my opinion.

That still strikes me as different from my truck. As the ambient air has gotten hotter I have not notice a significant increase in EGT's, mine seem more like a 1 to 1 correlation. It was around the 40's when I moved my probe pre-turbo and my EGT's were a little under 600* cruising. The last couple of days with temps in the 80's my EGT's are around 625 to 650 with the air running.
