Well I searched and read alot of threads but can't find any of them that tells or shows where the over flow valve is located. Does anyone have a diagram showing where it is located? I've looked all over the fuel system and can't find it. Maybe I'm just blind or stupid? :confused:95 2500

Thanks,

John

DDP and PDR both have some pics you can look at. But one thing they do not mention when changing the valve. Stuff a rag below the valve. Failure to do so with result in the total loss of sanity when the bottom washer falls down and it will grow legs and hide so you will never, ever be able to find it until six months later when your wife or kids come into the house and ask, "what's this for?"

Overflow valve location

It is on the injection pump, engine side. It is in the valley between the engine and the injection pump. It is part of the banjo fitting for the return line to the filter and injector bleed line.

I found it thanks for the help. I looks pretty tight there can it be taken out without removing the injector pump?

Yes, I replaced mine on the 94 without taking anything apart. It was a simple operation. Use a rag per hdm48's suggestion.

Thanks darom, I have 186K do you think I should just change it or take it out and see if it needs it. I'm thinking it isn't that expensive so just buy one and change it. I started thinking about it after someone mentioned it could be my problem with startups and low power. I found I think my problem was bad fuel hoses again. Well anyway I think I found it ordered some hoses will get here next week then I will know for sure.

Thanks,

John

I replaced mine as part of the normal trouble shooting, I had 180,000 miles at the time. PDR sells it for 65. 00.

What I found to be my issue was the tank breather vent was clogged. I took it into a guy who had seen it before, he used a rag and an air nozzle and then pressurized the tank and cleared the vent. Everything was fine after that. If there a wooshing sound when you remove the fuel cap, you could have that same issue I had.
