is it nessesary to re-prime the engine if this is replaced, or just use the primer to force out the air you just intrduced into the system, and then tighten it down, or just reinstall it?
I never done anything after replacing the valve. It is on the return side of the system. Just start it with a bit of extra throttle, it may stumble for a few seconds but will catch right away and run fine.
thats right, inches or parts there of, i used a scale that has, 8ths,16th,64th,100th,so you can measure pretty close. did not use my tri-cal. i guess that i was curious about it, no symptoms, maybe just a little rough running after a long run.
If the spring measures less than . 500 it has collapsed some and is getting ready to be a problem. Stretch it to . 550 and reinstall and see if any problems disappear and if so get a new valve.
the valve was discussed in previous posts and i was curious about mine, 71M on it. as stated, after a long run it seamed to be a little rough on the idle, pulled the valve and measured the spring and found it to be 450m, cokestd the spring back to 550m and carefully put it back together, as deezul1 suggests. hope this answers your question.
