Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Overboost code - Again!

About a year ago, I got an EZ. In June of 2003, I had a P0234 (overboost) code, and Edge replaced my EZ. Just finished moving my lift pump back and replacing fuel line/banjos, and decided to check for any codes. I have an overboost code set again. Now, does this code cause the ECM to defuel or anything? Or is this just an informational code. Truck seems to run fine, and I AM my own warranty station, so if it is purely informational, I may just ignore it.

No it does not. I find that code now and again on my 99 and I only run 80 lbs of boost.

I was talking to a friend of mine this evening and he kept getting codes. It turned out to be the oil from his K&N getting on a sensor. He went back to a stock filter and that solved the problem. Hope this will help.

Pull and clean you MAP sensor, and clean all four of the connections and re grease them with some dielectric grease.
