What are the odds my overflow valve is bad? I'm currently at 142,000miles. I've only owned the truck for 10,000. I've read some posts where the spring came out in pieces. Should I buy one ahead of time just in case? Is it like the KDP, it's only a matter of time? I've read that Pier's has a decent price. Any other vendors to explore? I do have a loss of prime problem when parked with the nose up in the air. When parked facing downhill I have no problem. Thanks.

The parts that are small in size and don't cost much, I buy in advance and carry in my truck. like the overflow valve and fifth gear nut fix. where I live, I have to order everything anyway and this eliminates the wait.

Pinch off your fuel return hose with a pliers while the engine is idling. If the idle speed increases the overflow is bad. If it stays the same you are OK. Simple and quick test...
