Every now and then the washers on banjo bolts will leak if reused. But not always, most of the time they are O. K.

Not all pumps have delivery valve washers. What year is your truck?

If your truck does have them, like illflem said, they do need to be replaced.

I thought it was delivery vavle o-ring that needed replacing after doing the timing. Are on 2 different subjects?

O-rings Bosch 2 410 210 033-000

The following is from Piers' delivery valve installation instructions:

"7. Some older 160hp pumps have copper or steel gaskets under the delivery valve holder. These should be replaced at this time with the new ones from the kit NOTE: If your pump did not have these gaskets do not use new ones. "

John,

The O-ring is a different animal, but you bring up a good point that it should also be replaced IMO. Some say they can be reused if removed carefully. I guess I am not careful enough and mine always get destroyed :)

I checked with the local, very respectable Bosch repair shop today. They looked up my truck in their application guide and said that delivery valves in the 96 trucks don't use washers. Now I can time in peace... Thanks for all your responces.
