I don't think it's an overflow valve problem. Actually, it sounds normal. If you put just a little pressure on the pedal to crack open the throttle a little it should start almost instantly.

starting slow

My truck used to do the same thing until i set the idle up to 850, now it starts right up when you hit the key. Oo. Oo.

I have to agree, I had to set my idle up(925) because of the new converter and it starts allot easier, overflow valve did nothing for the pressure just peace of mind.

Thanks guys.

I thought I read that somewhere, but you're right,,,, hit the peddle a bit and she fires up like no tommorow.

I wonder if they ever fired right up, even new?

adios

FWIW:

I noticed a big difference on my truck after installing the GSK and raising the idle a tad.

After raising the idle on Dad's truck... his fires on the 1st 1/2 of a revolution as well... . gotta love that!

Also... . with the GSK, my truck doesn't lug as much as it used to at curb idle with the A/C on... . the rpm hardly drops at all... . nowhere near as much as it used to...
