2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Overhead Computer code???

While driving, the overhead computer started reading "CCD". Does anyone know what this means? It reads CCD in all steps except the elapsed time which reads normally. Is my computer & compass on the way to crapping out? Thanks for the help...

CHeck your harness connections in the PCM (or is it the ECM) behind the airbox(against the firewall) I had that problem and I had to remove the three connectors and reset them a couple times but it cleared.

Larry, according to the shop manual for my year, 2001, if you have the ignition key in the off position and then press the step and US/metric buttons at the same time, then turn on the key to ON, the display will go into a self-diagnostic test mode. The result is either a PASS, FAIL, OR what you saw, CCd. The manual says the CCd display requires a DRB scan tool to diagnose the problem so you might have to go to the dealer to have them look at it. It also checks all the display flourescent tubes for function. It also said the FAIL result means it is a goner so you may still be okay. Good luck and let us know what it was, we may be next! Finally got an answer from the dealer. The "CCD" means Chrysler collision data bus. According to their tech, in order to save wiring the computer uses the CCD to communicate with the temp sensor & the compass module for the trip computer readouts. Anyway, the self diagnostic showed "PASS" in all tests but still came up with the CCD in the display occassionally. The service manager said that the module probably needs to be replaced and that they would have to order it to the tune of $675 plus installation. . :--) . He didn't charge me for the diagnosis, and I told him that I would let him know. TDaub, I tried your fix when I got home, unplugged and blew out the connectors with air and hooked them back up to the PCM. I didn't see anything wrong with them, but the computer has been working fine now, no problems so far. Looks like you guys saved me some bucks, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!
