I've read some posts about how people see they are getting only 5MPG while doing smokey burnouts and such. My computer display does not update like this and I'm wondering if different year trucks update differently or is something is wrong with mine.
A good example is when towing my camper over a weekend or something it continually (but VERY slowly) deducts MPG calc a fraction at a time so by the end of the weekend it may display 13. 5 MPG; while I started out the weekend (from running empty) at indicated 16. 5 however, calculating at the pump though I get say 11MPG (towing). Then come monday morning it will be all off again from having towed and will take a week of driving back and forth to work (empty) to get it close to accurate again.
I guess I'm a little confused as to what good this thing does if it takes so long to update. It'd be nice if it would calc every 5-10 gallons rather than a tank or 2.
