my overhead console doesnt read the miles on the odo, but everything else like the mpg, time, and temp all works. my speedo and odo in the instrament cluster still works. any ideas?
I've seen another thread like this. Same problem. Since the speed/distance data is clearly reaching the overhead computer (it needs that to calculate MPG) I would propose that the overhead computer circuits (or software) went bad somewhere and the ODO function went AWOL.
I don't know if that other truck got fixed or what fixed it. My vote is bad trip computer. (Hope this isn't a trend)
I remember seeing the other thread also. It seemed that there were a bunch of us that all had exactly the same problem you are describing here and almost all of us had 99's like you. I don't think anyone had a solution.
man, id hate to have to buy a whole trip puter. i think id leave the thing the way it is for now. . i just figured a reprogram or maybe a loose wire concern?
