overhead console readout

While driving along I have noticed several times that my overhead computer console readout totally drops out just dashes. Can't be reset. Turn off the engine, restart engine, everything is fine but the computer is reset. What is up?

electrical gremlin... i have yet to hear of any fix for this...

best to trace the wire loom from plug to plug... . use some dielectric grease and smear on a bit at each hole replug and see if it helped



if you haven't already seen it... they are just "close guess" info on readouts

Mine has done it a few times, but not for a while. Have 22,000 miles now, and probably has not done it in the last 10,000. I just cycle the key quickly while driving and it comes right back. Have not noticed that it resets, because I usually have it on temp.

Star sais it has to do with bus priorities and has no plans to fix it.

Mine hasn't done it in months.

thanx for the input. Guess I'll just live with it and see if it goes away with additional miles.
