I have done numerous searches and come up with a limited number of posts on this topic but none actually were able to pin down what exactly caused the problem as far as I can find.

My overhead console was working just fine and then a few days ago it just stopped working. No lights, buttons, of anything work. I am going to go through the fuses to make sure a fuse is not the issue. In all of the posts I have reviewed, none of them that I could find ended up being the fuse.

I doubt these overhead consoles are repairable to anything but minor repair so I guess I am preparing myself for buying an used console as these consoles as far as I have been able to determine are no longer available.

I am posting this primarily in hopes that others who have encounted this problem will reply with what they were able to determine and what if any repair they were able to make. Thanks in advance!

Mine is just the simple compass and temp display and it's worked off and on since I bought the truck in 2011. It quit working a couple of years ago, and then about 9 months ago, I looked up and it was working again. Hasn't quit again YET. I think the PO hacked the wiring up for it when he installed the A-pillar gauges. One of these days I'll get around to fixing the hack job. My luck, it will quit working again when I do....

I found and ordered an overhead console on eBay that was in pretty good condition as a spare. Hopefully I won't be needing it and I can use it in the wife's truck if the wire harness is there for it. She has the overhead console without the digital read out. In any case, as old as these trucks are getting, it is not a bad idea to have a spare for particularly difficult to find parts.
