Overhead Console Temp Guage

Does any one know anything about the ambient temprature gauge in an '06 Truck. Started reading 52 degrees when it was 79 degrees out side. I disconnected the sensor and apt some dielectric grease on the contacts and plugged it back in, now reads -32 degrees - - any one have some ideas how to correct?

Two things I have noticed with the overhead temp display on my '06



1st, if it has been in where it is warm such as the wash bay for the afternoon when I take it out into the 0 degree weather it can take as long as 15 minutes to adjust to the actual outdoor temp, then it changes all at once. Maybe where you had it disconnected that could be the case.



2nd if it reads a constant -40 or so below for extended periods of time I have to unhook the power to the PDM on the LH fenderwell for 15 minutes, hook power back up and it will straighten itself out. Kinda' like a hard reboot.

there is a reflash that supposedly fixes this issue... but disconnecting the batts is quicker.
