2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Overhead Console

Need to remove overhead console. Both springs which allow for depressing of overhead lights are somehow not working right. I have the manual which includes both diesel and gasoline trucks. Don't know if it's different than just the diesel manual as far as those items are concerned.

Manual says and shows to remove 2 screws at front of console and slide back and out. Didn't find those 2 screws.

Anyone know how to remove this overhead console?

I believe inside the garage door opener compartment there are two tabs you must squeeze and pull down then slide the unit forward. Once down there is one connector and you should have it out. At least that was the way mine came out.

I just had one of my guys tear apart & adjust my overhead console. Turns out you'll find there is these black electrical conectors that have clear plastic pins extending to the lense. If the lense is pushed too hard or whatever, the black conectose come loose, not allowing you to turn on the light. We ended up gorilla glueing the black thingies on. It works well now.
