Overhead Console

Has anyone added the overhead console with the digital display into a truck that just came factory with the sunglasses holder and map lights? Are the wires there? Is it plug and play?

My '98.5 has it. Displays exterior air temp and a compass. At least that's what mine displayed when it worked. It did not work when I bought the truck then it suddenly started working one day. Worked for a couple of years and now it doesn't work again. Don't know about "plug-n-play". You'll at least have to have the temp sensor that mounts under the hood. It looks to be a simple harness, just haven't had the want-to to dig into it.

How do you even get into the overhead console. I have a dome light that will not turn off in that console and i couldn't figure out how to take the console off so i just unplugged the fuse next to the drivers door. Would really like to fix that light so a guy has lights in the cab during these winter months
