Just wondering if anyone has had their truck do this or has seen it happen. I shut the truck off and OAT is 40* and when I restarted it was reading -40*.

It stayed there for a while and finally counted itself down to 0 and then went to the current temp which was 41*. I have never seen anything like this happen and was wondering if anyone else has.

Thanks

JIM

I saw my 03 do the same thing on just one occasion. The wife and I thought the thing had lost its marbles! It did this about a year ago and never did it again.

My 06 has done that several times. I too thought I was seeing things, but it happened again. I don't have any explanation.

My 05 did this once, in 1 day the outside temp went from -90 to 156. Never did it agian. I was plowing all day/night so it might of had something to do with it.

I seem to recall that mine did that once or twice also. I also periodically get this "--" on my overhead for all readings. It goes away once I shut the truck off and start it again.

Dodge knows about the -- and says it has to do with bus capacity and bus priorities. That means to me there isn't enough CPU ability at times and they allow the display (rather than something really important) to suffer.

I guess the bottom line is it's normal for our 03's.
