My overhead display was acting up this morning...

All that I saw on the display was "N --F"

Flipping throught the other settings just gave me "--". Once I got to work I shut the truck off then turned the key back on and it seems to work like it should... WTF is going on?

This is one of those little gremlins in the 03' trucks. Restarting the truck has always fixed it.

that's what i thought... . i'll tell my dealer anyway... hopefully they will report it to dc and that will help lead to a fix. ;)

ditto

Same thing happened to me one time. Shut it off and the problem went away. Computeers are like that sometimes. By the way ,I caught the old check gage light flicker once today. You have to be quick to catch it though. I hope they figure that one out someday.

I had a similar problem with the power windows. They would not close until we shut it off, and turned the key back on. The more electronics, the odder the problems.

Mine has done it several times. Just key off and back on and it is fine. I don't even stop. Just throw it in neutral and restart. I think they call it an electrical anomaly.

My overhead console acted up once. The fix..... took it down and filled the conector with dielectric grease. No problem since.

removal?

How do you remove the overhead display on an '03? The service CD states to remove the screws at the sunglass holder (??).

My temperature was "--" tonight as well. I had just put in my Edge EZ and I looked up on the way home and saw that. Some of the things that fix that sort of thing on the brand F trucks are turning the key off and restarting or disconnecting the batteries and reconnecting. I hit the first traffic light and shut her off and restarted and it was back to normal. I honestly figured that while on the stepstool putting in the EZ, that I may have jarred the connection at the sensor, but since I read this, I figure that even the best trucks can't be perfect!

Dodge knows about this and doesn't think it's a problem. They gave me a line about the data bus being "busy" and that the display was the last thing to be updated because of its low priority. They couldnt tell me why it would not ever update untill I cycled the key though.
