Have done a search and found only one thread covering this subject and it offered no help.

The overhead trip odometer on my '05 recently quit working. It reads "00" and never shows anything else. All the other readouts on the overhead continue to work as always. The odo's on the dash both work perfectly, as does the speedo. The rear end was recently replaced and a new ABS sensor installed. A new windshield was also installed but I haven't seen any wires that would be unhooked in that process.

Any ideas?

Godspeed,
Trent

Pop the OH off and check the wires that are back there, they shouldn't have been touched with the windshied, but you never know.

I will take it off and take the plug apart and put it back together. Unfortunately it is in Texas while I am in Indiana. How does the OH come off?

Godspeed,
Trent

I think it depends on options and year. My '04 Laramie overhead has two clips in the back that you just pull down on. The only problem is the two screws you can't see under the map lights. You have to gently pry off the map light covers to get to the screws. I believe there was a little indent that kind of showed where to put the screwdriver. If your overhead has the sunglasses holder, then I believe, the screws are under that.

The '04 factory manual only shows how to get the one with the sunglasses holder off. Probably in a 1500 or an SRT. I figured out how to get mine off after pulling hard enough to temporarily destroy the clips the screws went into. AhHa. Then I found the section showing how to replace the bulbs. Put 2 and 2 together.
