overhead temp and milage display problem

My overhead console display ( I think DC calls this part of the travel convenience pachage?) went bad last night for a short time. No Temp, only compass and DTE reading - and I don't know if they were accurate. The lights on the buttons and the display would NOT dim with the interior lights.



I finally stopped the truck, turned it off and back on and everything seems fine again.



Anyone else seen or heard of this.



Hope it is not a sign of problems to come.

There are occassionally some bugs in that overhead display. About once a month I get in mine and get what I call a "blank stare" from everything except the timer. They all display "--". When I re-start everything comes back. It doesn't bother me.

went to dealer today to pick up new truck but got there too late but i got to look inside it and the temp said 28 F. It was over 55 outside hope it works tomorrow before i take delivery. everything else was working on the display.

I had the blanck stare crop up and after the sirst restart it was back to normal again. Did'nt notice it until I was on the highway. so I could'nt shut down and restart right then. waited to Igot were I was going and forgot until I left about an hour later !!!

My '03 hemi did that twice. It also just completly stopped running once. Just for a second. Then came back on. I thought WTF??? Another reason I got rid of it. So, far the '04 CTD has been fine.
