Towing Heavy - hah !

Traded my good friend my Airlift helper springs for 3 hours of flight lessons. It was a steal for me ($150 worth of bags for $300 of flight time) but he can log the time too, so it was a fair deal for both of us.

Anyway, he has a '98 12V and wanted them for his truck. I brought them over to him and looked close, TURNOVER BALL!!

We both forgot it was on there and are not sure if the bags will mount to the frame now since the ball mounting brackets are there.

Anyone done this before? We are both fabricators so we can cut/weld something if we need to but only if we can't figure anything else out.

Thanks!

I don't know how different it is from the 03's but I have the B&W Turnover Ball and ride rite air bags. . No conflict here :D:D

airbags and turnover ball

I sell the hitch you are talking about and the only trucks that have a problem with the bags and turnover are fords. This is acording to my dealer. I have not installed one on a dodge with bags but will be doing a ford in a couple days and had to order a different hitch than usual.

Air Bags

I have done a few trucks setup this way and you will have to extend the latch handle on the turn over ball to come out pass the air bag on the drivers side. You have to drill through the turn over ball side plates to attach the bags to the frame also. Oo.

It's not a problem at all. i have the Air Lift, same as Firestone, air bags and I have the same B&W turnover ball gooseneck hitch. The brackets just have to mount against the hitch plate that runs along the frame rail right where you need to be with the upper bracket. Their is 4 mounting holes i believe, and all but the bottom had the hitch frame bracket in the way. Hardest part is drilling thru the hitch bracket, frame rail. For the bottom hole or two I used a 5/16" spacer. Just make it large enough to support the corner, and bolt it in. It doesn't hurt a thing, the hitch bracket just gets a few more bolts to anchor it.
