'03 5th wheel hitch

This morning as I drove past one of the two local Wal-Mart Supercenters I noticed a new Freightliner Medium Duty puller and one of those beautiful very high $$$ all-fiberglass, all-weather fifth wheels with multiple slide-outs and dual tandem axles (sorry don't remember the brand name) parked on the corner of the lot. The 5er rig had obviously parked overnight.

I couldn't help but chuckle to myself as I thought about the combined price of the medium duty puller and top of the line 5er parked in free parking and remembered the firestorm of opinions recently expressed in this forum regarding parking overnight at Wal-Marts.

The owner probably had to save on the cost of overnight parking in order to afford the $150,000 - $200,000 price tag of the rig he was driving.

America! A free country! You gotta love a guy driving a rig like that with the nerve to park at Wal-Mart. I'll never be embarrassed parking my Dodge Ram and Avion travel trailer at a Wal-Mart.

Gotta grin at that! He was most likely just like the rest of us, driving long miles to get to somewhere for Christmas and got tired and did the safe thing. Pulled over and slept. I plan to be doing the same thing in a day or two, just not in a rig that plush.

JD, who is headed for the high sierra for snow boarding and the high desert for the sun and back roads.

I'm a little disappointed at the lack of emotional response so far. I thought for sure my post would stir up a real entertaining "discussion" on a slow Friday evening.

Even Gary is pretty mild tonight.

Oh well, the evening is early yet.

:D

I have a buddy of mine that was the National acct. mgr. for Lucent tech. handling Walmart and he said that Walmart really prided themselves on letting people campout at their stores. The good old Northern Arkansas hospitality ;) They just don't like you to dump your holding tanks in the parking lot.

There is no right or wrong answer to this question. What is right for one will be wrong for another.

Merry Christmas All!!:)

I don't get the comments  Did I miss something? What is the big deal about camping for free overnight in the Wally world parking lot?

Pit, there was a rather heated discussion on this issue a while back, got way off topic- not sure if Admin delted the post, but I know it finally got shut down.

What agreat bunch !

I see everyone has retained their sense of humor, and evidently no one's feelings were hurt to badly. What a great group and what a GREAT COUNTRY where we can freely discuss these issues.

Merry Christmas to all,

Fireman

I was thinking about converting to Amsoil while camping at Walmat for free. Shoot, I may even sell Amsoil in the parking lot.

That's all I have to say about that.
