Funny you should mention this. They are supposed to come with the truck!
When I picked up my truck it came with a DVD and an Owners Manual, 80 pages. The Owner Manual covered the 1500 as well as the HD's but didn't say anything about the diesel.
When I was changing my oil for the first time I could not find any section on how to properly check the oil level.
I called the Publications number in the back of the Owners Manual, 800-992-1997, and asked to order a factory service manual. The nice lady told me they were not out yet and that was good since I would void my warranty by working on the truck myself!!! I told here she was full of **** except I was not that polite! After I peeled myself off the ceiling I explained that the owners manual did not even explain how to check the oil and Chrysler was going to be liable for any engine damage for improper oil level.
She then transferred me to another lady and I explained my dilemma. She pulled out her manuals and told me the page number for the oil check procedure. That is when I realized I had the wrong manual.
She sent me BOTH the Owners Manual, 509 pages, and the Diesel Engine Supplement, 140 pages for free and apologized for the confused dealer.

So the answer to your question is call the number above and tell them that you too did not get the manual with your truck.

I just got a call from my dealer the other day, that my paper manuals were in (I ordered them in February). As soon as he can process my VISA for $42. 00 he will send them out.

I thought they were free for the asking, but apparently not.

This information was on the CD of my new vehicle purchase. A printed version of the owners manual and other needed information can be obtained by the original purchaser of the vehicle at no cost. Call 800-423-6343

I called this number and received a recorded message. I punched zero rather than go through the recorded messages and got an operator immediately.

After stating I needed all the available manuals for my new vehicle, Ashley, the operator, asked for the VIN, Mileage, and the selling dealer of the vehicle.

She asked if I had the NAV/Radio, Diesel engine, etc, and my mailing information. She then went off-line and reviewed this information and then made the request for authorization to make the transaction. I was approved. The manuals will be delivered in 3 - 4 weeks.

Note: My salesman stated that if I went through the dealer parts department I would have to pay for the manuals.

Note #2: I haven't actually picked up my truck and will not until next Monday, but with the VIN # given to me by the salesman, I was able to get the manuals ordered today, no problem.

HTH, Dean
