How thick is the bed rail?

I recently purchased the new 2004. 5 truck with the "600" engine. I am convinced that they gave me manuals for the old engine as the frequency of oil change was 3750 or 7500 miles. I would like to hear from others on this subject.

Now that really is unusual. You see, I have the "old engine" and my manual says the oil change interval is 7,500/15,000.

The glove box manual I got on my '03 HO (built 7/03) also says 3750/7500, but I was of the impression from several sources that they doubled it.

I'll be interested to see what 'authority' can be cited for mine as well... .

My 2004. 5 manual (says Second Edition on the back cover) in the schedule B charts has a column with 3750 miles on it, but nothing is checked. However, on the Maintenance Logbook, Schedule B side, there is a sheet with 3750 miles on it calling for an oil change - but with an asterisk - which indicates this is for the California 235 HP engine only.

I'm pretty sure mines says the 3750/7500. And the dealer gave me the 3750 schedule A talk to CYA. I decide the 7500/15000 was DC blowing a lot of smoke.

So, I'll be doing the same ol' 5000 with dino/filter. Shall I say what flavor of dino and hoist an opinion about SINthetic just to torch things off?  :-{} :D

naugh. :-laf

I hope this is not to Off Topic. I will be picking up my 4. 5 today or tomorrow. Is there any Specific Dodge repair manual that is recomended for everything other than motor? Chassis. Brakes etc.

I am planning on ordering a manual from Cummins specific for my Engine serial Number. Has anyone ordered this manual from Cummins? Is it worth it?

Thanks

I have the 04. 5 and owner's manual says 7500/15000. My personal opinion is that 15000 is too long of an interval. Any opinions? Service mgr. recomended no longer than 5000, sooner if in dusty conditions. Larv

I have a 91 Cummins with 300000 mi. on it, I have changed that oil every 3000 to 3500 mi. It still runs great so that's what I'm gonna do on this one. This new trucks oil turns black just like the old one did, I know that's not a deffinate indicator of anything but I feel better changing it that often.
