Just got a new TST for my 2003 truck and it ran awesome the first day. I drove it this morning and the inejctors were hammering away. A lot louder rattle than the normal timing rattle that is common. Also, when I tried to lauch the truck from a stop, it wouldn't spool up, it would just bog. Then it went back to working fine. So when i pulled in the shop, i revved it a few times and it reved smooth the firts two times, them the rattle came back and it wouls stumble around 1100-1200 rpm. I checked all connections and everything is good. I've had several dodges and have never had to replace a crank sensor, but it looks like that may be the problem. Any thoughts? By the way, the truck is a 2003 with Samrty/TST/MP-8 stack, Silver Bullet 66, full Georend transmission.

Check all of the TST settings, especially the Timing Settings. Mine has changed from Auto Timing to SET Timing a couple of times by itself. This will definitely cause extreme injector rattle at idle and low rpms.

I had similar problems with my original TST, injector rattle so loud it scares you. It would do it as my speed was leveling off after take off, if that makes any sense, as long as I was accelerating it was fine, but back off or just hold steady, and it would rattle like hell. Yes it did throw that same code, crank shaft pos sensor, but only if I hit it hard below 1100 rpm and then backed out really fast.

Had TST reflash with the 4 tunes, my original was a single tune. No more problem, some rattle on the economy tune, but nothing like it was.

As far as the stumble, mine also did/does that when stacked with the Smarty. I cannot run any TQ setting on the TST as long as it is stacked with the Smarty. It does not matter which Smarty program, My truck will stumble, miss, burst, whatever you want to call it, if I use any TQ setting other than 0.

I run any Smarty tune or sw, TST 0/5, EZ 2. Truck runs super, I can play with the TST hp setting up or down depending on what I am doing. Try turning your TQ on your TST to 0, see if that helps. There have been a couple of "03" owners besides me, who have had the same Smarty/TST issues.

Hope this solves your problem, Jess
