Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) P 1693

so my 01 truck is continueisly throwing the P1693 code. When the code sets, when i am driving it will make the engine return to idle unless you hit the clutch or the brake. any suggestions?? I am pretty sure there is something wrong as the same code keeps popping up like bi weekly

Are you getting any other codes along with the P1693? Typically whenever this one shows up, there is another code there as well.



Are you getting a MIL light with it, or just the code?

Just the 1693 code and the light on the dash. I had the truck back to the stealer and he had said that it was a boost code in the companion controller

A loose wire in the harness going to the MAP sensor can cause that code. So can a poor connection to the MAP sensor. Bad or loose wires in aftermarket performance kits/boxes that plug into the MAP sensor can also cause that.
