the dealer told me I was going to need a pump replacement because it was starting to leak oil and I see the mess it's making. where do I find a good p-7100 for a good price?

Where's it leaking? Unless the body of the pump itself is cracked, any oil leak can be fixed. No need to buy a new pump.

I'd also suggest finding someone else to work on your truck and stay away from the fellow who told you that.

Mine leaked at a little pressed in plug on the upper back side of the rear housing. Before I found this leak I replaced the throttle shaft seal as the real leak was running down and off at that point. I found and fixed the leak when I had the head off for a gasket. I'm not sure if a person could fix it with everything together or not. Where is yours leaking from? The way I fixed mine was to clean it up real well and fill the hole with silicone. It has held for a long time this way as there is no pressure on it.

I got a used 215 p-pump from source automotive. I think he still has a few if you end up needing a new pump. Good luck.

That is where mine is leaking also I don't have to add much oil I've never used any between oil changes. I do smell fuel when I floor it just for a moment and I don't know if it's part of the oil leak or not. I've replaced all of the fuel lines so they aren't leaking.

CP98. Was that picture looking down at the top of the IP with the intake/head removed? If so, is there any chance it can be seen with a mirror? Also, you mentioned the throttle shaft seal. Is that a DIY or a pump shop. The oil consumption I posted about previously has become major in a hurry. Oil is dripping from the starter and prefilter and the left side of the engine is soaked. It used a gallon in 700 miles. I think it is mostly blowby, but once I clean it I want to check out other possibilities. I had to tow a big square, heavy trailer into the wind and was in 4th gear at 2400 rpm and 17-20 pounds of boost for quite awhile. On the way back I lost 5th gear and had to drive about 500 miles in 4th to get home (2500 rpm = 60mph). Used a little over a quart for that.

Yes that is looking straight down with the head off. I would guess you could probably get a look at it with a mirror but I haven't tried it. I did the throttle seal myself. I got the seal from a pump shop. I seriously doubt either one of those would cause a leak as big as you are describing. I'm wondering if your tappet cover gasket has let go. Those can dump a lot of oil or so I have read on here. Also check the oil lines to the IP and vacuum pumps. You will probably have to do as you said and clean it up good and then keep a close eye on things. One thing that leaked bad on me one time was when my vacuum pump housing broke cause by a power steering pump drive tang breaking off. It dumped at least a quart in under 300 miles.
