Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) P Code 0254

Hey guys, need a little help. Ive been trying to track down a miss the last month. Tried taking all the fuel lines off and cleaning the ends and reinstalling, didnt change anything. Just tried tonight unhooking the comp, even though it didnt change on any level or on or off. Still didnt change anything. On the drive home from work the cel turned on and I knew it set an over boost code but I checked them just incase. Found the over boost code along with P0254-Fuel injection pump valve current too high. I checked the diagnostic procedure for the code on Chryslers website and it pretty much just said that if the code is present to replace the pump. It didnt list any conditions, just that its an internal problem. Now what Im wondering is if anybody has had this code and possibly a miss at the same time. I wouldnt be suprised if the pump is causing the miss and dont mind going ahead and changing the pump out if it takes care of both problems. Anyone thats had this same code please let me know what you did to fix it.

It has been too long since I had to deal with the death codes (READ - step 1 code is present, replace pump, step 2 clear codes and re-check), and I no longer have access to the troubleshooting trees for the DTCs. I have an OEM manual for the 02 BRE, but no trouble shooting trees for the codes, just description.

Hopefully JLaundry will chime in, IIRC he has the trees.
