Anybody done any

Really Long Term Storage

We all seem to order a lot of parts by email. UPS, FEDX, etc. say they will not allow an address with a P. O. Box. I will be moving shortly to a very rural area and all I will have is P. O. Box. like everyone else in this area. How do you get parts and stuff shipped to you? Will drive 2 miles or walk to mail box on the highway.

We can't receive US mail at our house here in the sticks - we get ours at the PO Box "downtown" #ad
. However, UPS and FedEx both deliver to the house at the street address - they will NOT deliver to the post office. I'm sure you have a street address even though the postal service won't deliver there.

Friend of mine lives 14 miles on a dirt road from his mailbox, UPS and Fed-Ex both will drive it with packages. Your road must meet certain requirements i. e. , they don't have to chain up to get though the mud, enough overhead clearance and a place with enough room to turn around. If you live way out in the sticks they can also drop off packages at yours or another family member's workplace.

Bob,

Just give them your rural address. I live in the woods, both UPS and FedEx brings all our packages right up a 100+ yard driveway to the house. USPS leaves the packages down on the street next to the mailbox or at the country store down the road. :(

Thanks for the help everyone.

Steve St. Laurent ~ Well cannot say there is a street address in reality. The area I am in was sub-divided over 20 years ago and roads was graded (dirt then and now). A lot of the roads are not usable unless with a truck or 4 wheel drive. Some are graveled and graded every year or so by the county as ours is. The sub-division is call Show Low Paradise. The roads have street names but have long since faded. The county, to help emergency services, came through and number all the streets such as 8022, 8047, etc. and numbered the houses that are being lived in such as ours which is #22. Lets see the house is 2 miles from the highway real close compared to some. usually have people come to the turnoff from the highway and call and we come get them. Not sure I woudl tell geno's how to deliver 4, 2, 1 filters?

illflem ~ Oh you can get in to our place retired now as most people is up there will have to check and see if I can deliver to them I suppose.

Dane ~ If I can figure out how to porivde the address see what I todl Steve above I will be able to get it done. Oo.
