Can an Inline pump work on a first gen B5.9?

I don't know about that.

Sure looks like my 2nd gen 95 truck on the under hood shot. Someone made a mistake posting images, or am I mistaken.

Whoops! My bad, I should have looked closer. Boy that would have been a sweet setup though. Maybe I can pull the engine out of the wife's truck and slip it into the '92.....

Okay how can you tell from that pick that its an inline P pump? I see how its a second gen engine bay with no problem.

Can a P7100 inline pump work and be bolted onto and function on a first gen B5. 9?

Trying to get my ducks in a row for this Cummins Conversion.

Thanks

Paul

Paul,

The three items that tipped me off to the p-pump engine were the gray valve cover shield, the inline injector pump hanging on the driver's side of the engine, and the different type of "elbow" opn the intake manifold. To really see the differences, find a 1st gen engine picture to put beside the p-pump engine on e-bay. From what I understand, it is much easier to buy a '94 or newer engine if you want an inline pump. To put one on a 1st gen engine, the front cover, timing gears, and of course injector pump need to be replaced. Others will be able to help you more, but I hope I helped you out a bit.

yep

yes its a 2 nd gen pic hood

even the brake booster master cyc is 2 nd gen

2 nd gens in 1 st are a lot easier if using a stock type
