I'm new to the diesel performance scene, but am curious as too how a conversion compares to adding a second CP3? Thanks for the feedback, love the site!

a P-pump conversion is very labor intensive, and you have to fight the electrical gremlins also. a member on here who owns his own shop, and sled pulls a lot, named TSterner did a p-pump conversion on his truck. you have to re-machine a new front cover of the motor.

a dual CP3 kit such as Relentless, ATS, or PPE's is a better way to go, I think. They have taken out the guesswork, and done their homework out of running out of fuel pressure in the rail.

hope this helps

A p-pump conversion is mainly for competition. Huge amounts of fuel and RPM. Not that they can't be daily driven, but I think the main advantages wouldn't show themselves on a strictly street truck. (except for maybe the potential for better fuel milage and easier maintaince. ) I don't know what the prices are for the modified cp3's or dual cp3's, but I think the starting price for Teds p-pump conversion was $4700. 00, which is alot for someone just wanting a little more power, but not too bad for a competition truck.

Thanks for the information. I didn't realize that this mod was geared more toward competition only. This site is a great tool that can steer me in the right direction. Thank you.

just as another option industrial injection has a good set of twin cp3's also they have the cp3. 4 which is a huge single injection pump.
