Dude I know parked his truck at night without issues... . woke up in the morning and saw P/S fluid all over the place under the truck (sorta like an English car... ... ). He said that he didn't have any brakes or P/S... . which makes perfect sense.



The truck was parked on a level surface and was not driven all night.....



He refilled P/S pump reservoir and all was well.



What gives? Did the hydroboost drain back all of a sudden?



Is the same gremlin that eats up socks between the dryer and the hamper causing this very same issue? :-laf

May not be his issue but I have had to retighten the top cap bolts on top of the steering box twice due to the bolts coming loose and it puking fluid. It only seems to puke the fluid at startup based on the drips in my driveway when it has done it. Secondly just about a month ago I went out and had no steering or brakes upon pulling out of my driveway, bit of a scare at 4am on steep driveway. Restart did nothing so I thought what the heck I can get to work like this and deal with it later. It started working fine 100 feet up the street. When I got home I checked it all out except for low fluid which seems to have escaped/blown past the pump cap couldn't find anything wrong. Filled it back up no problems since. Was thinking that the filter screen in the bottom of the pump got clogged or something but have not had a chance to tear into it to check it out. Been fine since though. Seems my vacumn pump seal is better than the seal on the cap thank goodness have crawled under a couple times looking for a leak but nada.
 
Have him try the brakes with the engine shut off. If the pedal is hard (i. e. , no boost), his nitrogen accumulator has puked its charge into the hydraulic system - that's what blew the fluid out on the ground.

Rusty might be on to something... .



I'll have him try that. Afterall - the accumulator should give you about 2-3 pumps before it's out of juice and the pedal gets hard, right? (with the engine off)
