During my last check-up, I discovered that my Power Steering pump is starting to leak. Called Dodge and inquired about a replacement P/S and new vacuum pump. Apparently, the P/S pump runs a little less than $400, but that vacuum pump is closer to $1,100... that's right, more than a grand just for that pump alone... . I'm considering purchasing a Cummins ReCon vacuum pump.

My question to the group is: Were you able to locate a new vacuum pump or P/S / vacuum pump combo kit for way less than what I was being quoted? If so, where and how much?

Thanks,

Martin

The leak is between the vacum pump and P/S assembly and can be fixed with a $3 seal. The problem is finding the seal. There are a bunch of folks here who have done it and prolly have the part#. A search may turn up the info you need also. No need to buy replacement unit just reseal the old ones.
