P0088 and P0049

My ETC light came on. Ran Smarty and P0049 - Turbo Turbine Over speed and P0088 - Fuel Rail Press High code were shown.

Any experience on what would cause these codes?

Too much fuel makes the turbo spin faster than truck wants, and high fuel pressure equates to more fuel than truck wants. Could be Smarty, so remove that first, otherwise could be sensor going bad, or an actual fueling problem.

Thx for response. When u say remove Smarty, meaning reset truck to stock? Smarty is not hooked to truck 24/7, only use it to run codes. I do have it set for towing and has been like that for several yrs now. I have the Smarty Jr, sry for stating just Smarty.
