p0191 code

This is for my brothers pickup he went out to start his pickup and he let it warm for about five minutes and came back out to take off when he seen his light was on and he check the codes and P0191

Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor Circuit Range/Performance came up so he was wondering how big of a deal this because it is still under warranty and we live 30 miles a way from the dealer.

Been there, done that code with my truck. I called my dealer, asked a few questions, one being about the seriousness of this - dealer told me no sweat, scheduled an appointment for a week later just in case. They cleared the code, commented that it could be some kind of computer glitch, took a wait and see attitude about it possible returning - as some have/some have not. I will tell you that after they did whatever they did - took the 1-1/2 hours, my truck is running better, with much more throttle power, and my gas mileage got better too. My truck is stock, under warranty, and EVERYTHING that rears it's head is visiting the dealer. As I see it, I paid for the warranty in the pricing.

Iv had that same code twice on my 05.

Dealer replaced the sensor the first time. Second time, they cleared the code and said that DC was aware of the prob but have not come up with a fixit yet.

So far it hasnt returned.

Had it twice on my 05,cleared by itself first time but it came back.



Second time I used the scanner to clear it and she never came back. I hear it is an erroneous code with usually no pressure sensor problems.



Been 10K now and it never came back.
