Got this one out of the blue today for the rail pressure sensor. Truck was running perfectly then "ding" check engine light comes on and the engine stumbles but keeps running. Now it's pinging like mad, only had a couple miles to go to get home so I continued driving it. Using the live data on my scanner the rail pressure is flatlined at 27,5XX, not fluctuating at all.
Engine is bone stock, no programmers, nada. I did have a plug in pigtail on the harness for a RP gauge that was reading zero while this was going on. I removed the pigtail and plugged the factory harness straight to the sensor but still no joy.
I've been a member here a long time and I don't recall this ever being a problematic part. Am I just lucky? I'm supposed to leave in two days for a camping trip too (of course). Any tips/tricks for replacing it? It looks pretty straightforward. Thanks all.
