I've been getting a p0238 and p1693 codes so I changed the map sensor... code is still there... . I also have been been having a dead pedal and cel..... I can get the cel to clear but not the codes... changed the lift pump and fuel filter..... still get a dead pedal once or twice a week... . seems to clear itself in a few seconds... . no other codes no 0216... . I have a comp with timing..... not sure what's going on don't mind changing the vp if it's really the problem... . don't want to be like DC and replace everything till I stumble on the cure..... thanks

Code 238 is Map Sensor Voltage to high, you can try cleaning or replacing. The other code is a companion code that states fault was detected in companion module. Fix Map and that will go away. Hope this helps.

My dad's truck threw a MAP code when his VP went. Son't know why, but it did.

The tech replaced the MAP sensor under warranty, cleared the codes and the same code reappeared whent the truck was started. Then the tech did a foot to the floor from idle test. The truck sputtered and popped something fierce. it would rev normally if you used a light foot.

His truck was and is all stock.
