Just got it last night for the first time / went down to Checkers and their scanner would not reset the code???? we tried it twice and the second time I did not crank the motor and the p0299 was still there / Any suggestions???
Well you might have a bad sensor problem. I don't think the code will clear and stay gone if the condition that set it still exists. Only thing short of DRBIII tool is to check/clean all the connectors, MAP for sure, related to boost.
Since the secon time we tried to clear the code we did not crank the motor / we just let all the electrical come alive (one position before crank) and the code was still there? Does that mean we have a bad sensor or is it possible my Juice/A is going nuts?
Its a hard code (needing to be fixed before it can be cleared). Its caused by your turbo not making sufficient boost while cruising. The ECM thinks there is a boost leak so it defuels the motor so that there isnt any heat damage. You need a better code eraser. My smarty works and will clear the 0299. If you drive it after about 5 good driving cycles it will go back to full power.
