I was driving down the highway and the engine acted like it missed. Never heard of a diesel missing. The engine light came on and I checked the codes. This revealed a P0336 (crankshaft sensor performance) and P0606 (internal ECM processor). The truck has around 10000 miles on it. I do have a TST box on it. I'm thinking that this is the reason why these codes came on. Does anyone know of anything that can help, like get the box reburned or something like that. I have also noticed that when i go up a hill not towing anything and keeping a constant speed that the truck start to miss or studder a bit until I get onto flat ground. Thanks

When I first got my box it would set the 606 code. Since then I have taken the box off, reinstalled it and had the codes cleared at autozone. The 606 code has never came back. However yesterday while cleaning the engine bay some water must have gotten down in the CPS sensor. Now I have the 336 code and a CEL. My suggestion would be to take the box off, dry the connectors out and have the codes cleared from the computer. Then try reinstalling it, making sure all connectors are tight.

What a coincidence. I was just going to mask if anyone has had the same problem as I. It almost sounds like a pop or backfire. I talked to Mark at tst about 3 weeks ago and they were in the process of reprogramming the box. I touched base with him last friday and Im to call back tomorrow or wednesday. He has some boxes out there being tested. Hopefully all goes well. I asked him what the problem was and he said it was a pilot injection. It doesnt seem to do it when the box is on 0\0.

thanks for the post. I will try to dry out the connections. I was going to call TST and see if I couldn't go out there sometime this week and get the box reburned. I'll make sure that the problem has been corrected before I go. Does anyone know if I run the truck with the codes on, if it will mess anything up?

Doubtful... it was probably an intermittent condition. The CEL will remain lit for a while, then will go out once the computer realizes the condition isn't coming back. The codes will still be kept in memory.

I was code-free for quite some time, until the last good rainstorm here, then the 0336 and 0147 codes popped up. Obviously, I have a little more waterproofing to do.

The TST connectors for the crank and cam sensors don't have weather boots on them, and I suspect water is getting in here (especially the crank sensor - it's got no protection from the elements whatsoever), and causing things to go a little haywire. A good glob of dielectric grease inside the crank sensor connector should help on this front.
