My truck started today without fail except for the MIL Light that came on. Outside temp was 50 and light rain. I did not wait for the Wait to Start light to go out and the truck started immediately as usual.

I read the previous posts regarding this code and have seen nothing obviously wrong. The truck ran fine.

Am curious if this could just be a fluke and if so...Will the code simply disappear after a number of successful starts like my previous P0234 Turbo Booster has?

Appreciate your help.

Regards

Charlie

Vehicle Issue Mil On Code P0380 Is Setting. Verify Intake air heater operation.
System or Component Customer Concern (No DTCs),DTC / Error Message;Wiring,Fuse / Relay,Malfunction Indicator Light / MIL / Check Engine Light,Intake Heater (Diesel);Cold Start (After 8 hour Soak),During Warm Up;Engine Idling;1st Gear,Neutral;Vehicle Stationary;Yes - Intermittent,Yes - Continuously
Recommendation Refer to the appropriate Powertrain Diagnostic manual and perform the diagnostics for code p0380. Inspect the engine wire harness near the engine oil dip stick tube for damage.

Check for loose /dirty connectors first at the grid heater solenoid

look carefully at the two small wires that activate the relay. On mine one of them was a little bent out of shape so it was loose. I keep getting that code until I reshaped the terminal sso it made good contact. No more code
