p0462 code

Greetings gurus,



My truck has now twice thrown the p0462 code. Went away last time after a dozen start cycles and it is back tonight.



I have been noticing that it seems to run rough at times when the engine is cold. Like a miss when you first start it.



Also have noticed an increase in smoke when accelerating (either from a stop or when moving). No fuel in the oil that I can detect. I change the fuel filter every 12k miles. Use only the filters from Geno's.



No other codes, bone stock truck. Never used a power device. 110K on the clock. Still getting 19-20 MPG highway.



First: can anyone decipher the code for me? P0462: Fuel level sensor 1 low. ?



Second, any ideas?

FCA? do you have the intank pump or the original canister mount pump.

Original canister mount. Have the replacement ready and waiting.



My thoughts are starting to lean toward the FCA also. Going to call Geno's...



Original batteries too. Do you think it might be a voltage issue with them?



Still can't figure out why the P0462 code though?

I do not know what it means. . intank? fuel canister, lift pump pressure? Maybe sag2 OR Bob4x4 will check in.
