I just installed an ats trans in an 03 calif. emissions truck and I keep geting an intermitent P0700 code .

can anyone tell me what this code means?

can anyone tell me wuy this code would be seting?

P0700

I just got the same code? :-{} Not sure what it means but I also just replaced my tyranny? :D Actually The chrysler dealership in Whitehorse Canada did the replacement under warranty! ( 62,000 miles) I was a little worried. It cost me 1800 (Canadian ) to have my truck and camper towed from Watson lake Canada to Whitehorse dealership. :--) But they replaces the tyranny in about 2 weeks got great service from them. I work in Anchorage Alaska. Kind of an inconvenience to go back and forth especially with all the road construction but very happy with the dealership! :- :D I will check my book and call the dealership today and ask about the code.

I get the code every now and then in my California truck. I called ATS and it has something to do with tq management/emissions. You can't clear it with a hand held thingy. The dealer has to do it because of the emissions BS. If you ignore it it'll go away after a month or so. I think I've had it 3-4 times in 3 years. Mainly get it when I'm towing heavy and having a little fun with the go peddle at the same time. Doesn't mean squat. Call ATS they'll tell you the same thing.

P0700 Transmission Control System (MIL Request)

Think there would also be related codes that you need DRBIII tool to see.

That is an ECM code to tell you that there is a fault in the trans controller. In 03 the ECM ran the engine, and the PCM controlled the trans. When you go in with the DRBIII you have to select engine or transmission controller. Your in the wrong one!
